Bài Thơ Đức Gioan Phaolô II báo trước Mật Viện. Bài thơ được viết bằng tiếng Ba lan vào năm 2002, như một phần trong một tập thơ suy niệm, được Vatican chính thức chuyển sang tiếng Anh và xuất bản năm sau đó.

Trong nhà nguyện Sistine nghệ sĩ vẽ bức hoạ Ngày Chung Thẩm
Ngày Chung Thẩm bao trùm toàn bộ nội cung.
Nơi đây, sự Tận Cùng không nhìn thấy trở nên hiển minh.
Sự Tận Cùng này là đỉnh điểm trong suốt
cũng là đích điểm cho mọi thế hệ.

“ Non omnis moriar” ( Không phải mọi sự nơi tôi đều chết )
Điều bất tử nơi tôi
giờ đây trình diện trước Đấng Hằng Hữu!
Đó là cảnh trí choán hết bức trần chính của Sistine tràn ngập sắc màu.

Anh có nhớ không, hỡi Ađam? Ngày đầu Người hỏi anh anh đang ở đâu?
Anh thưa: Con ẩn trốn Ngài bởi vì con trần truồng.
Ai đã bảo cho anh biết anh trần truồng?
Người phụ nữ Ngài đặt cạnh tôi đã cho tôi trái ấy…

Những người tụ họp dưới khung chính điện của bức hoạ Sistine ấy
phải mang lấy gia tài lời đáp trả của anh!
Của câu hỏi và lời đáp trả ấy.
Đó là Kết Cục lộ trình của anh.

Lời diễn

Chính nơi đây, dưới bức trần hoành tráng của điện Sistine ngập tràn màu sắc, các Hồng Y được triệu tập như một cộng đoàn chịu trách nhiệm cho di sản của chìa khoá Nước Trời.

Các Ngài đến đây. Và một lần nữa Michelangelo lại bao phủ các ngài trong cảnh sắc lộng lẫy của ông. Trong Người chúng ta sống, hành động và hiện hữu.

Người là ai?

Hãy nhìn xem, nơi đây bàn tay sáng tạo của Đấng Quyền Năng Muôn Thuở, vươn tới Ađam…
Từ nguyên thuỷ Thiên Chúa tạo dựng…
Người, Đấng Thấu Suốt…

Và bức hoạ Sistine sẽ nói lên Lời Chúa:
Tu es Petrus ( Con là Phêrô), Simon, con Giôna vang dội.
Cha sẽ trao cho con chìa khoá Nước Trời.
Những người được tín nhiệm bảo toàn ấn khoá
sẽ quy tụ về đây, được bao trùm bởi màu sắc Sistine,
bởi quang cảnh mà Michelangelo đã để lại cho chúng ta.
Vào Tháng Tám và rồi Tháng Mười,
lưu nhớ một năm có hai lần Mật Viện,
Và lại diễn ra, lúc cần đến, sau khi tôi khuất bóng.
Cảnh trí của Michelangelo lại ngỏ với họ.
Mật Viện: Một sự quan tâm chung đối với di sản chìa khoá Nước Trời.

Họ sẽ thấy mình ở giữa Nguyên Thuỷ và Tận Cùng,
giữa Ngày Tạo Dựng và Ngày Chung Thẩm.
Con người được tạo dựng để một lần phải chết và chịu phán xét!

Anh sáng và sự hiển minh sau cùng.
Tỏ hiện mọi biến cố
tỏ hiện mọi cõi lòng
Chắc chắn trong Mật Viện, Michelangelo sẽ dạy họ
Đừng quên: “ Omnia nuda et aperta sunt ante oculos Eius.”
( mọi sự trần trụi và phơi bày trước mắt Người.)
Ngài hiện diện trong mọi sự, xin hãy chỉ đường dẫn lối!
Người sẽ dạy bạn…

Judgment

In the Sistine the artist painted the Judgment,
The Judgment dominates the whole interior.
Here, the invisible End becomes poignant visibility.
This End is also the summit of transparency
such is the path of all generations.

"Non omnis moriar" (Not all of me will die).
What is imperishable in me
now stands face to face with Him Who Is!
This is what fills the central wall of the Sistine profusion of color.

Do you remember, Adam? At the beginning he asked you where are you?
And you replied: I hid myself from You because I was naked.
Who told you that you were naked?
The woman whom you put here with me gave me the fruit....

All those who populate the central wall of the Sistine painting
bear in themselves the heritage of that reply of yours!
Of that question and that response!
Such is the End of your path.

Epilogue

It is here, at the feet of this marvellous Sistine profusion of colour
that the Cardinals gather
a community responsible for the legacy of the keys of the Kingdom.
They come right here.
And once more Michelangelo wraps them in his vision.
In Him we live and move and have our being.

Who is He?

Look, here the creating hand of the Almighty Ancient One,
turned towards Adam....
In the beginning God created....
He, the all-seeing One....

The Sistine painting will then speak with the Word of the Lord:
Tu est Petrus (You are Peter) as Simon, the son of Jonah, heard.
To you I will give the keys of the Kingdom.
Those to whom the care of the legacy of the keys has been entrusted
gather here, allowing themselves to be enfolded by the Sistine s colours,
by the vision left to us by Michelangelo
so it was in August, and then in October,
of the memorable year of the two Conclaves,
and so it will be again, when the need arises after my death.
Michelangelo's vision must then speak to them.
Conclave: a joint concern for the legacy of the keys of the Kingdom.

They will find themselves between the Beginning and the End,
between the Day of Creation and the Day of Judgment.
It is given to man once to die and after that the judgment!

A final transparency and light.
The clarity of the events

It is necessary that during the Conclave, Michelangelo teach them
